What needed to change
- Simplify product navigation for different customer types (foodservice vs. households).
- Speed up and clarify the process of purchasing ingredients based on recipes – a key need for foodservice clients.
- Ensure that products listed in recipes are always up-to-date and available in the catalog.
- Enhance the visual appeal of recipes, especially in cases where meal photos were missing.
The Solution
What we implemented
Two AI solutions were developed and implemented: tailored product descriptions, and a recipe-based shopping assistant.
- Personalized product descriptions: AI generates descriptions based on whether the customer is a household (B2C) or a foodservice business (B2B). Descriptions reflect the needs of specific target groups – package weight, shelf life, usage recommendations, or logistics info. Language is adapted to the customer's expectations and vocabulary.
- Recipe-based shopping assistant: from a database of around 10,000 recipes, customers can choose a dish and add all required ingredients to their cart with a single click.
- The AI model matches recipe instructions and ingredient lists with the current product catalog, selecting the most suitable items.
- The solution also generates illustrative images of meals when recipe photos are missing.
The Results
What changed after deployment
- Improved clarity and usefulness of product descriptions – customers receive relevant information in a format they understand.
- Faster shopping process – especially for foodservice businesses that can order all ingredients for a daily menu in just a few clicks.
- Increased engagement with recipes on the e-shop, boosted by visual appeal through automatically generated images.
- Enhanced customer experience, contributing to greater loyalty and higher conversion rates in the online environment.
