Lunys, a major player in the distribution of fruits, vegetables, and fresh groceries, aimed to significantly improve the online customer experience for both households and foodservice businesses.

  • Simplify product navigation for different customer types (foodservice vs. households)
  • Speed up and clarify the process of purchasing ingredients based on recipes – a key need for foodservice clients
  • Ensure that products listed in recipes are always up-to-date and available in the catalog
  • Enhance the visual appeal of recipes, especially in cases where meal photos were missing

Solution

We developed and implemented two AI solutions for the client:

1. Personalized Product Descriptions

  • AI generates tailored product descriptions based on whether the customer is a household (B2C) or a foodservice business (B2B).
  • The descriptions reflect the needs of specific target groups – such as package weight, shelf life, usage recommendations, or logistics info.
  • The language is adapted to the customer’s expectations and vocabulary – whether formal, practical, or marketing-oriented.

2. Recipe-Based Shopping Assistant

  • From a database of around 10,000 recipes, customers can choose a dish and add all required ingredients to their cart with a single click.
  • The AI model matches recipe instructions and ingredient lists with the current product catalog, selecting the most suitable items for the intended use.
  • The solution also generates illustrative images of meals when recipe photos are missing, enhancing the visual appeal of the e-shop.
