Dôvera, a leading health insurance provider in Slovakia, faced a recurring annual burden during the manual processing and evaluation of receivables for write-off as part of the year-end accounting closure.
Each year, especially during the year-end close, the chief accountant and other team members at Dôvera had to:
Manually review large reports of receivables pending write-off
Cross-reference structured data with comments and unstructured accounting notes
Make decisions on the write-off method and tax deductibility for each receivable
This process was extremely time-consuming, especially during the busiest period for accountants, and critically dependent on the expert knowledge of a single individual. The client was seeking a way to speed up the process, reduce the load on key personnel, and ensure consistency in decision-making.
Solution
We designed and implemented an AI solution that:
Analyzes a combination of structured accounting data and free-text notes that were previously processed manually
Uses trained evaluation logic to assess each case
Based on this logic, the system recommends the most appropriate write-off method, including tax deductibility
The outputs are presented in a clear format, ready for quick validation and export by the accounting team into their financial systems.
